Join the GW Resiliency and Well-being Center for a Women's Well-being Lecture Series talk on “Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for the Real World” at 12 p.m. ET on Thursday, September 17, 2026, with Michelle Clausen PhD, MSN, CNM, a fellow in the Postdoctoral Primary Care Research Training (P-CART) Program and the Resiliency & Well-being Center in the GW School of Medicine & Health Sciences.
Dr. Clausen is focused on developing interventions that incorporate trauma-informed strategies and spirituality to improve health outcomes. With GW since 2005, she completed her undergraduate studies in Public Health in 2009, followed by GW's accelerated nursing program in 2013 and obtained an MSN with a concentration in Nurse-Midwifery in 2015. In 2024, she completed her Ph.D. at the GW School of Nursing, focusing on the impact of maternal factors, such as spiritual well-being and early childhood adversity, on pregnant individuals' health.
As a Nurse-Midwife, Michelle provides comprehensive medical, gynecological, and reproductive care while advocating for accessible midwifery services and the integrity of physiological birth in various settings.
