Leigh Frame, PhD, MHS, CERT ’20, is ascending to a new role: associate director of the George Washington University (GW) Resiliency & Well-being (R&W) Center. She currently serves as the director of Integrative Medicine Programs, executive director of the GW Office of Integrative Medicine and Health (OIMH), and assistant professor of clinical research and leadership at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
In her new role, Frame will lead the transition of the GW GWell Center for Health Care Professionals to the R&W Center. Among her responsibilities will be reforming the center’s mission, prioritizing its most effective wellness initiatives, and revamping its website as well as its social media and marketing strategies. She will also lead the development of clinical services and accompanying educational offerings for the medical enterprise. In addition, she will spearhead new lectures and webinars, workshops, masterclasses, scholarships, research projects, and sponsored summer fellowships.
“I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to build on my experience as a leader in nutrition, well-being, and science to marshal the transformation of the center,” Frame said. “I have many ideas about how to better serve our GW community, including building a culture of whole-person wellness.”
Frame, who has a background in biomedical research, is well known for her expertise in health, wellness, science, and medicine. She has overseen research and education programs, including the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke Parkinson's Disease Biomarkers Program, and she has lent her knowledge to publications. She currently serves as associate editor of Global Advances in Health and Medicine and guest editor of the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
Frame earned her PhD in international health: human nutrition and a master’s of health science degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She was also a member of the 2020 cohort of the GW Master Teacher Leadership Development Program. She’s the co-founder and chief medical officer of Recondite Consulting, which works with the pharmaceutical industry to improve clinical outcomes by identifying dietary and lifestyle factors affecting efficacy and safety. She’s a board member of the Northern Ireland-based Covimro Ltd, an orthomolecular health care company, as well as biotech company Scaled Microbiomics in Maryland and nonprofit Access Integrative Medicine Health Institute in Washington, D.C. She also is the co-host of the GW Integrative Medicine podcast. In 2021, the International Forum for Advanced Healthcare named her among the Top 100 health care leaders.
Frame assumed her role in April 2021.
